It was founded on 1565 by Diego de Villarroel under the invocation of San Miguel Arcángel, in the Fields of Ibatín. 120 years later it was transferred by Fernando Mate de Luna, to the denominated place La Toma, being celebrated this new foundation the 27th September 1685.
