The city port of Rosario one is to borders of Parana river, in front of the island Espinillo of the delta (originated by aluvional accumulation coming from the river Paraná), to the Southeastern of the province of Santa Fe. She is without a doubt one of the most important cities of this province. It today has its origin in an establishment surroundings to a humble chapel ( Nuestra Señora del Rosario) that it was growing slowly, in lands donated by the captain Santiago de Montenegro, registered in 1665. In Rosario the National flag fluttered for the first time and a great monument, today, remembers this fact.

_ National monument to the Flag Historical Monument Nacional (Santa Fe St. 581)_ One is facing the river. It has its origin in the installation of batteries, one of them Independence in the island Espinillo and the other Libertad on ravines of Parana river. It is in this last one where today is the monument, here the flag created by Manuel Belgrano it was hoisted the 27th February 1812 for the first time.
It is a project of the architects Alejandro Bustillo y Angel Guido, and the escultors Alfredo Bigatti and José Fioravanti. Made in travertino marble. Inaugurated the 20th June 1957. The change of the Honor guard of the National Monument to the Flag stands out the first Sundays of every month, which is integrated by soldiers of Regimiento Patricios.
The parks National of Bandera and Belgrano surround to this monument.
This particular representative symbol of the city of Rosary tries to represent the "ship of the Mother country", is divided in three parts:
-1- The Tower In its base is cripta of the general Manuel Belgrano.
-2- Civic Patio
-3- Propileo- Reproduce an athenian temple. Underneath is the Gallery of Honor of the Flags.

* Pasaje Juramento : passage that unites the National Monument to the Flag and the square 25 de Mayo, in where it is possible to be acceded to the basilica Nuestra Señora del Rosario and to Municipal Palace. It includes a water mirror and a peatonal bridge in where a escultoric group can be admired of Lola Mora.

* Basílica Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Buenos Aires St. 789): in cripta an image is conserved of Virgin of Rosario brought from Cadiz in 1773. One stands out the fourteen stations of the Crucis Route in bronze reliefs.
* Municipal palace or Palace of the Lions (Buenos Aires St., it is also acceded by the passage Juramento): two marble sculptures escort their entrance reason why it receives its second names.
* Building of the Mail (corner Buenos Aires and Córdoba): building inaugurated in 1938. Here the Headquarters of Police worked.
* Plaza 25 de Mayo (Buenos Aires St., Córdoba St., Laprida St. y Santa fe St.): it is the main seat of Rosario. It has a trapezial layout and double row of trees. In its center the Monument rises to the Heroes of Reconquista.
