Going by National route Nº 40, at 156 kilometers of Salta city, capital of the province of Salta.

Pre-existing town to the Hispanic domination, that still conserves large houses of the Colony's times. Cachi is located in the Calchaquíes Valleys, in the union of the rivers Cachi and Calchaquí, in the Province of Salta.
Their origins go back to 1673, when becoming the distribution of charges at Salta, appeared some years later as the proprietor of the foundation Mr. Felipe de Aramburu.
Its name in quechua's voice kallchi, means "salt".

_ Main Square 9th July _ In front of it you can find the Church and the museum. The Artisan Market stands out.
_ Church San Jose de Cachi (National Historical Monument) _ stands out three bells located in the superior part of the facade. It was created like Aramburu family's oratory, who was proprietor of the land where the religious temple is elevated at the moment. The 19th March the Supervisory Celebration of San Jose is celebrated.
_ Archaeological Museum Pío Pablo Diaz (Cacique Juan Calchaquí st.) _
_ Martín Güemes' Monument (intersection reconciled Automobile Argentine Club and General Martín Miguel de Güemes) _ Monument to the military man and Argentinean patriotic that was born in 1785 at Salta and was dead in 1821 at Cañada de la Horqueta.
_ Viewpoint (1 kilometer approx.) _ Going by De los Rios St., crossing the Cachi River.

* Cachi Inside (at 6 kilometers)
From this small town a you can get a great sight of the Nevado de Cachi.

* Nevado de Cachi (Snowed of Cachi) (at 75 kilometers)
El Nevado de Cachi is a mountainous cord of nine summits and the highest mount of the province, with 6,720 meters over the level of the sea.
