This town that belongs to Rio Negro province is located in the gulf San Matias, which has a beautiful and very concurred beach, due to its location in the gulf and the action of the solar light, the temperature of the water is tempered. The beach is protected of winds by cliffs, that the marine erosion carved, giving peculiar geoforms. That is the reason of its name Las Grutas, to the caves undermined by the sea in cliffs.

It has a great tourist infrastructure, where the Balneario Las Grutas -Bath- stands out, it is one of the most concurred of the locality. Apart from that nautical sports, subaqueous activities and the fishing can be practiced on this area.
