Created in 1941, with a surface of 28,000 hectares, the Provincial Park Copahue extends to the northwest of the province of Neuquén with the objective to protect the forests of pehuenes (Araucaria Araucana).
There are two tourist centers are integrated in this Park, Copahue and Caviahue , distant to each other 18 kilometers:
* COPAHUE (at 376 kilometers of the city of Neuquen)
In Mapuche Language Copahue means "Place of sulfur".
Its main attractiveness is:
_ Thermal Tourist Station _ Located in a depression originated by glacial action, in spurs of Copahue volcano (2953 meters), that is protected by steep ravines.
The therapeutic value of these waters resides in his varied and abundant chemical elements, mainly sulfur.
* CAVIAHUE (at 358 kilometers of the city of Neuquen)
