Created in 1951, with a surface of 51,100 hectares, the National Park Pilcomayo River , is located to the northeast of the province of Formosa, at the shore of the Pilcomayo River.
It protects different ecosystems of the Eastern Chaco (Humid Chaco), like palmar, mount islet and forest in gallery, and areas flooded with varied vegetation, formed by madrejones, bathed and matting. One of the attractions that offers the National Park Pilcomayo River is the Lago Blanco (White Lagoon), of 700 hectares of surface.
