Receives this name in 1943 in tribute to Manuel Belgrano, who was the flag`s creator. Formerly called “El Sauce”.
It is located in the center of the valley of Calamuchita ( Valle de Calamuchita), in the province of Córdoba .
It presents the typical aspect of Alpina´s valley (Villa Alpina) inherited from Germans, Austrians and Swiss immigrants who bought this lands.
The arrival of the German sailors of the armored Graf Spee in the end of 30´s, after the naval battle of Rio de la Plata during the second world war, impregnated the city with unique characteristics, because when the war finished this crew decided to stay the land.
It has an excellent tourist infrastructure , with an important lodging sector (hotels, bungalows and camping) and above all gastronomical because their breweries, restaurants and cafeterias are centers of attraction for the traditional German food.
The National Fest of beer in October has had remarkable importance since 1964.
