77 kilometers far from Puerto Madryn. You can arrive by Provincial route asphalted N° 2, that unites the route Nacional N° 3 with itsmo Ameghino, in a route of 54 kilometers.

Peninsula Valdes, as its name indicates it, is a fabulous geographic feature skirted by the two gulfs, San Jose at north and the New to the south, declared Natural Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO in 1999.
It is an Integral Reserve of 360 thousand hectares, where different specific Faunistic Reserves (*) are situated of incalculable beauty and ecological value, the San Jose gulf is Provincial Marine Park and the New gulf is Provincial Faunistic Reserve.

The austral frank whale, declared Natural Monument, is main the attractiveness, but also she is one of the most vulnerable species, since the number of 100 thousand units that added today at the beginning of century as soon as it is reduced to 3 thousands. More than 800 whales arrive at Valdes in May and they remain until half-full of December for mating and give birth. The Institute of Conservation of Whales (ICB) wants that the tourists and visitors enjoy the activity of seeing the whales at Peninsula Valdes, but that also become aware and know that the survival of the species depends on the respect of certain norms.

The front door to Reserva Faunistica Integral Peninsula Valdes is located in itsmo Ameghino, on the San Jose gulf. There is the Center of Intepretation.
Port Pyramids it is the only urbanized region at Peninsula Valdes, whose importance as center populated dates since 1898. His name comes from the cliffs in pyramid form that protects their beaches. Here is the only station where you can see the whole peninsula.
From its coasts they distribuite the boats for the seeing of the austral frank whale.

(*) Natural Reserve Tourist "Port Pyramids" (32 kilometers of the entrance to the Integral Reserve) Created the 22nd September 1967.

_ Punta Pardelas (12 kilometers of Port Pyramids by Provincial route N° 2) _ Great beach for the fishing, snorkelling and diving. By his neighborhoods to loberias of Punta Piramide and Punta Delgada it is common to find marine wolves and elephants of one and two hairs.

_ Salinas _ 50 kilometers far from Port Pyramids, way to Punta Delgada by Provincial route N° 2, you can find here the great depressions called, Salinas Grandes, Salina Chica y el Gran Salitral.

Complex Light Punta Delgada: the old light, constructed in 1905 and qualified 1° of May of that same year, is recycled and became a hotel.

(*) Natural Reserve Tourist "Caleta Valdes" (you can arrive by Provincial route N° 45 from Punta Delgada) Created the 24 of January of 1977. She is one of the formation coastal more showy of the Patagonia. Caleta Valdes has 35 kilometers and appears parallel to the external coast of the peninsula. In his interior there are several islands.

(*) Natural Reserve Tourist "Punta Norte" (you can arrive by Provincial route N° 3 from Port Pyramids or by Provincial route N° 45, from Caleta Valdes) Created the 29th September 1967. This is the unique place of Elephants of the world in continental territory.

(*) Natural reserve Tourist "Isla de los Pajaros" (5 kilometers to the north of the entrance to the Integral Reserve) Created the 29th September 1967. It protects the great communities of marine birds as much as coastal, that use this small barren island to makes their nests.
