Created in 1954, with a surface of 15 thousand hectares, the Nacional Park Chaco, it is located to the east of the province of Chaco. It protects one complete sample of typical atmospheres of Eastern Chaco (Humid Chaco), since development was created in the heat of the running of the zone, indeed to safeguard a sample of the implacable advance of the deforestation that modified for always to all the region. It is not casual that the most serious problem that affects the National Park Chaco is the effect of "insularizacion", so it is not feared in any protected area. It extends on a level land and it has as only accident the river Negro, that it furrows the park by its northeast angle, and some ditches and little streams of unstable courses that get to disappear in the dry times.

The central part, this and South ones of the park constitute a arboreal mass, call locally " Strong mount ", where they predominate the red and white quebracho, guayacan, urunday, algarrabo white, among others.
In the Southeastern it is the matting "Panza de Burro", whose vegetation is in favor compound mainly of totoras. In the northeast associated to the course of the River Negro we will find a dense Forest . To the west of the park the land rises gradually and the matting disappears giving rise to an extensive herbaceous prairie where the gramineas predominate.
